Tilton button flywheels are available to suit Ford small block and Chevrolet V8 engines and are machined from billet steel. When used with the flex plates listed to the right they provide the starter ring gear. Whilst a button flywheel and flex plate installation can neither match the inertia or strength of a Tilton flywheel with integral ring gear they do provide a cost effective solution for engines not exceeding 8000 RPM and provide condsiderable reduction in inertia and saving in weight over an O.E. flywheel.
They are suitable for use with our button flywheels for both 5 1/2" (140mm) and 7 1/4" (184mm) clutches.
Note: Clutch mounting is via through holes that accept AN5 bolts inserted from the engine side, head is retained by a step machined in the flywheel back face.
