Red Line limited-slip differential friction modifier / break-in additive is designed for use with plate type LSD units and can be used in one of 2 ways:
Firstly, it can be used when breaking in a new LSD unit by reducing the friction between the plates and therefore reducing the temperature.
Secondly it can be used to reduce the chatter often experienced with this type of LSD unit or even to reduce the locking effect on a unit that is too aggresive.
For use as a tuning aid it should be used with one of the Red Line "NS" gear oils that do not already have friction modifiers as part of their make up thus allowing a degree of tuning to suit conditions. The friction modifier should be added a small quantity (25 - 30ml) at a time until the desired results are acheived.
It is suitable for use with both mineral & synthetic gears oils and satisfies the requirements of Chrysler 4318060, GM 1052358, Ford M2C118-A & 19B546-MA.
