Odyssey Extreme Racing 40 Battery
Odyssey Extreme Racing batteries offer exceptionally high cranking currents for their size whilst retaining the capacity to provide the power reserves required of competition batteries. They provide the power needed by the high current drawl starter motors required to crank high compression competition engines delivering the fast and reliable starting required, this coupled with their generous deep cycle reserve capacity makes them the ideal battery for competition use.
The combination of light weight, high cranking and reserve capacity is achieved through the materials and methods used in the batteries construction; the ultra-thin 99.99% pure lead plates allow more to be fitted into a given size of battery case. More plates means more surface area and that allows the batteries to provide up to twice as much power as a conventional automotive batteries, low internal resistance allows them to deliver the available power quickly with massive output in excess of 2250 amps achievable for a typical 5 second cranking pulse over twice that provided by an equivalent sized conventional automotive battery.
Odyssey Extreme batteries are specifically designed to offer exceptional performance under the extremes of heat and vibration found in competition applications whilst remaining lightweight and compact. Odyssey Extreme batteries are of an AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) design with the electrolyte being held in suspension within glass matts between the tightly packed lead plates, this non-spillable design effectively resists the shock and vibration seen in competition applications that can quickly damage regular automotive batteries. Odyssey Extreme Racing Batteries are capable of operation in temperatures of between -40 to +45 ˚C and can be stored unconnected for up to 2 years without charging. They can be charged to 100% capacity in 4-6 hours and offer 70% longer cycle life than conventional batteries with a typical service life of between 3 and 10 years.
