ACT’s new clutch kits for the Ford Classics include a Heavy Duty pressure plate, a choice of driven plate, a release bearing and alignment tool. The ACT Performance Clutch Kits are designed to replace the Ford “Long Style” 10 inch clutch. The F019 pressure plate incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides close to a 30% increase in clamp force over the stock unit.
The ACT Street clutch kits combine the F019 pressure plate with a performance organic street disc. The disc features premium organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high-burst strength and modifications engineered to allow faster gear changes. The ACT Street clutch kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement and significantly improved durability making them ideal for rally and cars used on classic tours. These kits are legal for FIA Appendix K cars and meet SFI Spec 1.1 safety standards with increased torque capacity of 430 ft-lb at the crankshaft.
The ACT Competition clutch kits combine the F019 pressure plate with a cerametallic Xtreme Race driven plates, which is available in 6-pad spring-centred and rigid-hub designs. These discs are very durable while allowing for fast gear changes. The Xtreme Race discs are for high-powered engines and recommended for track use only. The ACT Race clutch kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and will hold 550 ft-lb of torque. As standard these clutches are supplied with the correct 1 1/16” x 10 spline from the Ford Top Loader transmission, we also offer these units with 1 1/8” x 10 and 1 5/32” x 26 spline driven plates for vehicles using T10 transmissions.
ACT clutches deliver the maximum holding power through applying a series of sound engineering advancements to new — not rebuilt — components that maximize load and reduce flex. The result is maximum torque capacity, long life and clean, fast gear changes.
